“A” is for Good, Local Food at Brubaker

Apples and schools go way back, from a small gift for teachers to the common citation for the letter “A” when learning the alphabet. And so it was that the Iowa Department of Agriculture stopped by Brubaker Elementary School to launch their “A is for Apple” initiative in support of the Farm to School program providing students with more locally grown food. Kindergarten Jumpstart

Brubaker will be hosting a program where incoming kindergarten students will have an opportunity to get an early start to learning about school. They will be interacting with peers, learning new routines, as well as getting a head start on math and literacy concepts. The program, including lunch is free of charge. You are welcome to stop by the main office and sign up, or call 242-8405 if you have any additional questions.
