LaVal Anderson

Interventionist

E: laval.anderson@dmschools.org

Biography

LaVal Anderson graduated from Upper Iowa University, with a reading endorsement and taught third grade for 15 years.  In 2013 she relocated from classroom teacher to Interventionist and has been able to work with students from Kindergarten to 3rd grade in that role.  Her small groups allow her to focus on the skills of her reading endorsement and relish in her passion of math.  As the parent of a special education student, a G/T student, and a down-right silly student, she understands the variety of joys and struggles a parent encounters.  LaVal says, “I don’t just love teaching… I love children. Teaching is not my job…it is my calling." During her spare time she enjoys being with her husband, their 5 children, and most of all their dozen grandchildren.
