Hello! My name is Doan Bittner. I am one of many special education teachers at Brubaker. I received my undergraduate degree from William Penn University and my graduate degree from Webster University. I have taught special education at various schools and grade levels before I transferred to Brubaker in 2008. I am happy to be here, and I love being a member of the Brubaker family!

Biography

Hello everyone! My name is Lacey Bleich. I graduated from UNI with a BA degree in elementary education with a middle level endorsement. I also have my special education endorsement. This is my 8th year teaching in Des Moines Public Schools. I taught at East High School for 6 ½ years before transferring to Brubaker last year. Here at Brubaker I am one of the special education teachers that work swith the 5th grade team.

Denise Bogle

Biography

My name is Denise Bogle. I have taught Special Education in the Des Moines District for 25 years. I have taught at Granger, McKee, and now Brubaker Elementary.

I graduated from East High School, Grand View University with a three year degree in education, and Drake University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. I also graduated from Drake University with a Masters in Special Education.

I have worked predominately with 3 and 4 grade students for the last several years.

I am very happy to be a part of the Brubaker family

Hello! My name is Kori Cooper and I am a special education teacher at Brubaker. I have been teaching special education in the Des Moines Public School District since 2001. Prior to moving to Des Moines, I taught for 10 years in Winnebago, Nebraska. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education from Morningside College.

Hi! My name is Ali Eull and I am a second grade special education teacher at Brubaker Elementary. I graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and an endorsement in Special Education. I student taught last spring in Des Moines and am so happy to be back for my first year of teaching! I am so incredibly excited to meet your child! I know we will have a great year together. Hello, my name is Kelsey Hoeksema. I graduated from Iowa State University in 2012. Go Cyclones! This is my first year teaching for Des Moines Public Schools. Previously, I taught in Davenport, Iowa for two years with upper elementary students. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I am looking forward to celebrating in our student success at Brubaker Elementary this year.

Hello. My name is Rhonda Perez. I recently graduated from Upper Iowa University at the Des Moines Location. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education focusing on Special Education. I have always had a firm belief that all children can learn. I love the challenge of being able to problem solve and figure out what students need to succeed. I am so proud to be a member of Brubaker Elementary.

This is my second year working in the cluster program and I love it! It is so rewarding to see these students succeed! I have my masters from Drake University in Special Education. I enjoy travelling and spending time with my family during breaks.

Biography

Hello! My name is Nicole Stuhldryer, and this is my first year at Brubaker Elementary.  I will be working with 2nd and 3rd grade special education.  I just graduated from Simpson College this past May with my degree in Elementary Education and endorsements in special education, early childhood, and reading. I student taught in Des Moines this past spring, and I am so lucky to have gotten my first job with the district. Go Bulldogs!
