Brubaker will be hosting a program where incoming kindergarten students will have an opportunity to get an early start to learning about school. They will be interacting with peers, learning new routines, as well as getting a head start on math and literacy concepts. The program, including lunch is free of charge. You are welcome to stop by the main office and sign up, or call 242-8405 if you have any additional questions.

Under the federal No Child Left Behind law, this school will be offering school choice for the 2015-16 school year. This is required by NCLB of schools “in need of improvement.” Click the headline for more information and to download a School Choice request form. All forms are due no later than July 1. Late forms will not be accepted.
Families will register their children for the 2015-16 year on-line using their parent portal accounts. On-line registration opens July 1. Families will complete the registration process at Brubaker on Thursday, July 23rd or 30th, from 1 – 7 …
DMPS will again offer breakfast and lunch over the summer months to children 18 and younger. The number of sites has grown, and so have the number of meals served. Last summer, DMPS staff fed children 28,722 breakfasts and 79,698 lunches. DMPS has sponsored a summer meal program for more than 30 years. In spite of the debate about when the school year should start, at DMPS we wonder: when does it end? That’s because activities take place at our schools nearly every day of the year. The first day of Kindergarten 2015-2016 will be here before you know it! It’s an exciting time for staff and students, but it all starts with registration. Sign-up begins on March 11. It was a big #BowtieTuesday Brubaker as our dean of student, Eric Van Dorin, designed a t-shirt that staff, students and parents ordered to raise funds for a local charity that supports kids with cancer. The response was outstanding with nearly 200 shirts ordered, and $570 in proceeds donated to Kids Living Brave in the name of 3rd grader Jonathan Dooley, aka Agent J.
Brubaker students welcomed the Blank Park Zoo for a hands-on zoology lesson. Students were able to learn, observe, and touch live animals during a lesson special thanks to Raymond for selecting this picture.
