Students at Brubaker Elementary lined up to receive the assignment they’ve been waiting for since last winter – brand new bikes courtesy of Variety the Children’s Charity and Sammons Financial Group with a little help from the Des Moines Police Department. Hoyt Middle and Brubaker Elementary School students released balloons from the outdoor track this week to show their support and good wishes for fellow student, Dakota McDonald, who is suffering from brain cancer.
