Fourth and fifth-grade members of Brubaker’s Bulldog Chorus visited and sang for members of the community Wednesday morning, December 16th. Apples and schools go way back, from a small gift for teachers to the common citation for the letter “A” when learning the alphabet. And so it was that the Iowa Department of Agriculture stopped by Brubaker Elementary School to launch their “A is for Apple” initiative in support of the Farm to School program providing students with more locally grown food. Students who attend a Title I school in Des Moines like Brubaker may be eligible for tutoring services at no cost to their family. Brubaker Elementary PTO will begin collecting Box Tops for Education and Labels for Education on Monday, September 21st.
